Triana | Artist
Triana was a Spanish rock band formed 1974 in Sevilla, Andalusia, by Eduardo Rodríguez Rodway (guitar), Jesús de la Rosa (organ, vocals) and Juan José Palacios (drums, percussion). The band was known for blending progressive rock, psychedelic rock and flamenco music to make a style known as Andalusian rock or flamenco rock. They attracted a cult following among the Spanish youth who, following the fall of national fascism, were interested in the subversive political themes of rock music. The band had three distinct phases, with changing lineup, but their peak period was between 1974-83 when they released three excellent albums, starting with their debut album El patio, which is regarded as a classic of Andalusian rock. Other standout albums are Hijos del agobio, Hijos del agobio and El encuentro.
