Donovan "Barabajagal"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, The State51 Conspiracy, UK, 2018, CON236LP, 5060581178234, 180g Vinyl, Remastered, Reissue

Barabajagal is the seventh studio album from Donovan. It was first released in France in 1968 then in the USA in August 1969, but was not released in the UK because of a continuing contractual dispute. Despite the slow start, the LP broke through after the release of the hit single "Atlantis." The LP had Donovan at his full strength as singer-songwriter and genre-master of folk, pop, hard rock, psychedelia, and novelty. It also marked the end of a successful relationship with producer Mickie Most, whose punchy production was bundled with the hiring of A-list musicians to back Donovan. The sessions included The Jeff Beck Group, John Paul Jones, Ansley Dunbar, Gabriel Mekler (Steppenwolf), Graham Nash, Danny Thompson, and other notables. After this project, Donovan faded from the pop charts and went "indie" with self-produced projects that yielded interesting results but mixed reception.
