Shemekia Copeland est une artiste de blues américaine née en 1979 à Harlem, à New York. Elle est la fille du guitariste et chanteur de Texas Blues Johnny Copeland. Elle a commencé à chanter très jeune et sa première prestation publique a eu lieu au Cotton Club à l'âge de 10 ans. Parmi ses albums marquants, on compte Wicked , Talking to Strangers et Never Going Back .
