Blackfoot is an American Southern rock band formed 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida by vocalist Rickey Medlocke, guitarist Charlie Hargrett, bassist Greg Walker and drummer Jakson Spires. They play a Southern rock style with references to the native American Indian heritage of three of the band members. In 1982 the band recruited ex-Uriah Heep organist Ken Hensley to join giving them a more progressive rock edge. Outstanding albums include Strikes, Tomcattin', Marauder and Highway Song Live.
