10cc's first album from 1973 which established a template for their intelligent expertly produced art-pop. The album contained the radio-friendly "Rubber Bullets" but despite it's appeal to mainstream pop audiences, stands up to critical listening due to the brilliance of the songwriting, musicianship and studio production skills of the four principals - Creme, Gouldman, Godley and Stewart, all of whom were well established writers and session players before forming 10cc. The band went on to make better albums, but this one is still a "keeper".
