Clutch is an American stoner rock band formed 1991 in Germantown, Maryland by Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), Jean-Paul Gaster (drums), and Neil Fallon (vocals). The band released six consistently good albums before breaking through with critical and commercial success for their seventh album Blast Tyrant in 2004. They followed that the following year with the equally good Robot Hive/Exodus. Since then the band has continued to release consistently strong work, with 13 studio albums to-date. The band also works on side-projects like jam band The Bakerton Group. Outstanding albums include Clutch, Blast Tyrant, Robot Hive/Exodus, From Beale Street to Oblivion and Earth Rocker.
