Daft Punk is a French electronic music duo formed 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. With their style of music which combines elments of house, funk, techno, rock and synth-pop, they achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French-house movement. Their second album, the superb Discovery, attracted rave reviews and gave the band a sting of hit singles: "One More Time", "Digital Love" and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". They followed up with several lacklustre releases until 2013's Random Access Memories, which recaptured some of their earlier excitement. Other outstanding releases include Homework and Alive 2007, which won a Grammy award for best Electronic/Dance album. Daft Punk also provided the soundtrack to the 2010 science fiction movie "Tron: Legacy". The duo wear ornate helmets and gloves to assume robot personas in performances and public appearances.
