Grant William McLennan was an Australian alternative rock singer-songwriter-guitarist born 1958 in Rockhampton, Queensland. He is best known as the co-founder of influential indie rock band The Go-Betweens together with with Robert Forster. McLennan wrote some of The Go-Betweens' most memorable songs including the great "Cattle and Cane". In addition to his work with the Go-Betweens he had a side-project called Jack Frost with Steve Kilbey from The Church, plus he issued four excellent solo albums: Watershed, Fireboy, Horsebreaker Star and In Your Bright Ray. Tragically he died of a heart attack at his home in Brisbane in 2006 at the age of 48.
