Heldon | Artist
Heldon was a French electronic rock band formed 1974 in Paris by Richard Pinhas (guitar), Patrick Gauthier (synthesizer) and François Auger (drums). Pinhas had previously led the band Schizo and also released six albums under his own name. Pinhas also collaborated with fellow French band Magma, and various members from Magma joined Heldon in later years. The band's sound was Influenced by the work of Robert Fripp and Brian Eno, blending electronic, industrial and rock forms. They released seven studio albums in five years before disbanding. All their albums were self-produced and self-distributed. One final reunion album was released in 2001. Standout albums include Allez Téia, Agneta Nilsson, Interface and Stand By. Also recommended are the two archival releases from 2015, Live in Paris 1975 and Live in Paris 1976. The name of the band was taken from the 1972 novel The Iron Dream by science fiction writer Norman Spinrad, who also collaborated with the band.
