John Foxx & Louis Gordon is an electronic music duo formed 1995 in Manchester, UK, by John Foxx and Louis Gordon. The collaboration between the two artists began when they met at a Louis Gordon concert in Manchester. Foxx is former front man of influential post-punk group Utravox and successful soloist and collaborator. Gordon is an English electronic musician who has been recording solo albums since 2005. Both musicians, who share vocals and play synthesisers and drum machines,, produce a sophisticated form of synth-pop. Standout studio albums include The Pleasure of Electricity, Crash and Burn, From Trash, Sideways and Impossible. Their sound incorporates chilly synthesizers and choppy computer rhythms, with overtones of sinister Eastern European funk, Kraftwerk-influenced minimalism, and a flashback to the '80s electropop of artists such as Heaven 17, Depeche Mode, and of course John Foxx himself.
