Kylie Minogue, AO, OBE, Australian singer, songwriter and actress born 1968 in Melbourne. She has worldwide recognition for her dance-pop music and stage performances, and has achieved recognition starring in Australian soap opera Neighbours, as well as a string of movies dating back to 1989. Minogue's first release for Mushroom Records "The Locomotion" was a hit and became the biggest selling single in Australia during the 1980's. This resulted in Minogue travelling to England to work with producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman who wrote for her the song "I Should be so Lucky". That single reached number one in the UK, Australia, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Israel and Hong Kong, establishing Kylie's international success. Minogue's work gradually transitioned from lightweight pop hits to more sophisticated adult oriented dance-club music, over the course of her first five albums, and along the way she moved on from Stock, Aitken & Waterman. Her sixth album, 1997's excellent Impossible Princess sees Minogue in full creative mode putting out sophisticated, superbly produced art-pop gems. 2001 saw the release of the equally excellent album Fever, which arguably was her artistic peak. To-date Minogue has released 15 studio albums and 88 singles. Outstanding albums include Impossible Princess, Fever, X, Aphrodite, The Abbey Road Sessions and Aphrodite: Les Folies - Live in London.
