Nemo is a French progressive rock band formed 1999 in Le Puy-en-Velay, Haute-Loire, by guitarist, singer and songwriter Jean-Pierre Louveton (JPL). The other current members are Guillaume Fontaine (keyboards, vocals), Jean-Baptiste Itier (drums, backing vocals), and Ollivier Long (bass). The band was initially influenced by Genesis and fellow French prog-rockers Ange. Leader JPL is a prolific recording artist who has himself released ten solo albums, plus albums under various side projects including two by progressive metal band WolfSpring. Nemo the band have released nine consistently excellent studio albums plus one live album. Standouts include Les nouveaux mondes (2002), Présages (2003), Prélude à la ruine (2004), Si partie II : l'homme idéal (2007), Le ver dans le fruit (2013) and Coma (2015). JPL and Nemo do not rely on mainstream record companies to publish and distribute their releases, instead using the online outlet www.quadrifonic.com as their commercial arm.
