Rose Tattoo is an Australian rock and roll band formed 1976 in Sydney by Angry Anderson (vocals), Pete Wells (guitar), Ian Rilen (bass), Mick Cocks (guitar) and Dallas Royall (drums). Later changes saw guitarists Tim Gaze ('85-'87) and Lobby Loyde ('89-'90) join the 'Tatts lineup. Their sound is hard rock mixed with blues influences, copious slide guitar and strident lyrics. They had hits with songs including "Bad Boy for Love", "Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw", "Nice Boys", "We Can't Be Beaten" and "Scarred for Life". With the demise of nearly all the original lineup, the band still carries on under the leadership of Angry Anderson. They have released seven studio albums and several excellent live albums. Their first two albums Rose Tattoo and Assault & Battery are regarded as their strongest works. Other outstanding albums include Scarred for Life, 25 to Life (live) and their most recent album release Blood Brothers.
