Titanic Rising, the fourth album from American Singer/Songwriter Weyes Blood, has been heralded as her best release to-date. The album is a loosely based concept work swathed in melancholia regarding the confusion induced by the state of modern living. This is best heard on the opener "A Lot’s Gonna Change", which serves as the perfect statement to feed into the ebb and flow of the tracklist. The production on the record is outstanding, everything from Natalie Mering’s voice to the beautiful string sections, it is all crystal clear, and shines brightest on "Movies", the albums centrepiece and sonic high. This is a rare example of an album which fully deserves all the critical applause and hype surrounding it. While building on the artist's back catalogue, as it can be viewed as a thematic successor to 2016’s environmental oriented Front Seat to Earth. Regardless, this record by one of today's most creative new artists deserves your attention.
