Youssou N'Dour | Artist
Youssou N'Dour is a Senegalese singer, songwriter, composer, occasional actor, businessman, and politician born 1959 in Dakar. Rolling Stone magazine described him as the most famous singer alive in Senegal and much of Africa. From 2012-2013 he was Senegal's Minister of Tourism. His music is based on polyrhythmic African urban dance styles and is recognised for his beautiful voice. He has collaborated with many western artists such as Peter Gabriel, Stig, Alan Stivell and Neneh Cherry. Outstanding albums include The Lion, The Guide, Nothing's in Vain and Egypt.
