Don Caballero | Artist

Don Caballero was an American instrumental rock group formed 1991 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by Damon Che (drums), Mike Banfield (guitar) and Pat Morris (bass). The band's almost entirely instrumental sound was centered around drummer Che, who was the only continuous member. With its complex time signatures, dissonant chords and rapid ensemble playing, the band falls into the Maths Rock genre. The band released six studio albums before ceasing activity in 2009. Several contemporary progressive rock musician, such as Tomas Haake from Meshuggah and Dave Konopka from Battles have named Don Caballero's third release What Burns Never Returns as one of their favourite albums. Standout albums include Don Caballero 2, What Burns Never Returns and American Don.
