The Moody Blues is an English rock band formed 1964 in Birmingham. The original lineup was keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. Laine and Warwick left in 1966 and were replaced by Justin Hayward and John Lodge, who have been the mainstays of the group ever since. The Moody's played a unique blend of progressive rock with psychedelic and orchestral elements. They were also one of the first bands to use the Mellotron as an integral part of their sound. Between 1967-1972 they released seven classic albums in a row. Outstanding albums include Days of Future Past, In Search of the Lost Chord, To Our Children's Children's Children and Seventh Sojourn.
