Neil Innes is an English writer, comedian and musician born 1944 in Danbury, UK. He was a member of The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and The Rutles, as well as collaborator with Monty Python. He first made his mark with the popular single "I'm the Urban Spaceman" with The Bonzo's in 1968, and went on to write much of their material in collaboration with Vivian Stanshall. Innes also worked with the Monty Python collective, in particular with Eric Idle, with whom he created The Rutland Weekend Songbook TV soundtrack and The Rutles music parody group. Outstanding albums include How Sweet to be an Idiot, Rutland Times, Innes Book of Records and Off The Record soundtrack.
