Ratcat is an Australian indie rock band who formed 1985 in Sydney fronted by mainstay vocalist and guitarist Simon Day. The band was popular with the indie and skate-punk communities for their indie pop songwriting and energetic punk-style guitar rock, epitomised by the hit single "Don't Go Now". The band released four studio albums and several excellent EP's. Their first release to attract critical and commercial attention was 1990's excellent Tingles. This was followed by the equally good debut album The Nightmare. Their third album, 1992's superb Insideout is considered to be their strongest release Their popularity peaked in the '90s when they supported INXS on tours of the UK, Europe and the USA. in 2006 they were a support act on the Psychedelic Furs Australian tour. Outstanding releases include the EP's Ratcat and Tingles, and the albums This Nightmare, Blind Love and Insideout.
