The Blackeyed Susans are an Australian rock band formed 1989 in Perth. Initially the band was a side project for David McComb, Alsy MacDonald and Phil Kakulas from the Triffids, together with Rob Snarski from Chad's Tree, and Ross Bolleter - all members of the Perth WA music scene. After recording one EP they underwent major lineup changes: Kakulas was replaced by Martyn Casey (another Triffid) who eventually left to join The Bad Seeds, Bolleter was replaced by Adrian Wood, and David McComb eventually left to pursue solo work in London and was replaced by Kim Salmon from The Scientists. The lineup eventually settled and the band went on to record seven excellent studio albums with a musical style that blends gothic country with chamber pop. Outstanding albums include All Souls Alive, Mouth to Mouth, Spin the Bottle and Dedicated to the Ones we Love.
