The Clouds | Artist

The Clouds is an Australian indie rock band formed 1989 in Sydney by core members Jodi Phillis (vocals, guitar) and Patricia "Trish" Young (vocals, bass). The band released three excellent studio albums and several EP's between 1991-96 and resurfaced with a new EP Zaffre in 2017. They were signed and subsequently dropped by Elektra records, when that label shed its entire stable of non-US acts. The band plays a brand of hard-edged power pop with strong vocal harmonies and traces of dream-pop guitar fuzziness. Their three albums Penny Century, Thunderhead and Futura are excellent as is the 1999 compilation Favourites.
