Infest the Rats' Nest is the 15th studio album by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, released in 2019. This is the thrash metal entry into the seemingly endless catalogue of the prolific rock lords, KG&LW. The album builds on the genre as it incorporates a dystopian setting with themes of environmentalism and class warfare. The sound is driving, raging and seethes controlled aggression from the outset as its clear, roaring production kicks things into overdrive with the prophetic opener "Planet B". The album is 40 odd minutes of some of the best metal of the decade from a band that dipped its toes in the pool just to try it. The record succeeds under both the genre and the band's standards, if not exceeding them. One of our favourites of recent years, and is one of the jewels in the abyss that is the King Gizz discography.
