Clark Hutchinson | Artist
Clark Hutchinson was an English psychedelic blues-rock band founded 1968 in London by Andy Clark (vocals, keyboards) and Mick Hutchinson (guitar). Also in the initial lineup were Pete Seers (bass) and Franco Franco (drums). Clark, Hutchinson and Seers were previously together in psych bands Sam Gopal and Vamp. Seers soon left and would eventually join Hot Tuna and Jefferson Starship, and his replacement Walt Monahagn left to join the Mick Abrahams Band. Steven Amazing (bass) and Del Coverely (drums) would eventually come on as replacements. Clark Hutchinson played a progressive style of psych infused blues rock, and recorded three excellent studio albums before disbanding in 1971. Andy Clark went on to form the prog jazz outfit Upp. Outstanding Clark Hutchinson releases include their three studio albums: A=MH2, Retribution and Gestalt, plus the excellent 1994 archival compilation Blues.
