Haken is a UK progressive metal band formed 2007 in London by Richard Henshall (guitar, keyboards), Ross Jennings (vocals), Matthew Marshall (guitar), Peter Jones (keyboards), Ray Hearne (drums) and Tom MacLean (bass). The present lineup sees Charlie Griffiths (guitar), Diego Tejeida (keyboards) and Connor Green (bass) replacing Marshall, Jones and MacLean. The band has received much critical praise for their heavy progressive symphonic-metal sound, with influences from bands such as Gentle Giant, King Crimson and Dream Theatre. To-date they have released seven studio albums and one live album. Outstanding albums include Aquarius, Visions, The Mountain and Virus. Also recommended is the excellent live L-1VE. As side-projects, Richard Henshall released a solo album The Cocoon in 2019, and Ross Jennings is a member of Novena who released the excellent Eleventh Hour album in 2020.
