LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Heavenly, Europe, 2017, HVNLP71, Reissue, Incl. Digital Download, Inner Sleeve Artwork
Good Humor is the Fourth studio album by UK Indie/Dance-Pop group Saint Etienne, released in 1998. Sarah, Bob & Pete ran off to Sweden to make this record with producer-of-the-moment Tore Johansson, the guiding force behind the 60's-referencing albums by the Swedish pop stars, and while this still sounds like an Etienne album from a lyric and vocal point of view, the music is very similar to an album like Cardigans First Band on the Moon. Basically that's not a bad thing, although it seems Etienne sacrificed just a little of their own mixtape approach in the process, as the conventional acoustic-band elements of it produce the most focused sounding album of their career. Production is sparkling; funky basslines, dancey percussion and meticulous arrangements with many beautiful melodic touches. Actually the entire album grooves so addictively, it would be great party music.
