Feature Album Queens of the Stone Age

From the hard rock kings of the new Millenium, comes one of their best records seemingly out of the blue.

'...Like Clockwork' presents a melancholic alteration of the band's trademark hard rock after the singer and certified nu-cowboy Joshua Homme flatlined during a leg operation, something he explores in our favourite song on the record, the penultimate epic, 'I Appear Missing'.

It's not all doom and gloom though, by this point you're bound to have heard the excellent singles 'My God is the Sun' and 'I Sat By The Ocean', which show the band's swagger and ear-worms at their best since their 2002 classic, 'Songs for the Deaf'.

For those unfamiliar, the album boasts features from Alex Turner and Elton John as well as production from Trent Reznor, who Homme would collaborate with alongside Foo Fighter and former QotSA drummer Dave Grohl on the instrumental 'Mantra' (check it out on youtube).

We could go on for days about this one, but we will let it do the talking. It's another gem from one of the best hard rock bands around.
