LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Prog Temple, UK, 2016, PTLP8018, 4753314801820, 180g Vinyl, Reissue

The Waters of Sweet Sorrow is an archival release from UK psych-folk trio Midwinter. Midwinter's now legendary status in the field of acid-folk was established when their 1973 demo recordings were unveiled to a wider audience Twenty years after their conception. Until then the band had only existed in the shadows of Stone Angel, the post-Midwinter outfit whose privately pressed LP from 1975 has become highly sought after. The versatility of the musicianship is evident from this iconic album captured in a Great Yarmouth recording studio in 1973. Also included in this edition is the earliest known recordings by Midwinter/Stone Angel frontman Ken Saul taken from his rare debut single from 1970. This is a stellar psych/folk album both in harmony and lyrics and in melody. Plus the band's unity in performing these dream like songs is a wonder.
