Osees are a wild, versatile slice of psychedelic chaos. With their conceptual versatility and monumental work ethic, the band has earned a place on the map of modern innovators of rock. For fans of King Gizzard, Ty Segall and Pond, Osees are essential listening.
Formed in 1997 by the band's chief member and multi-instrumentalist, John Dwyer, the band has gained continual success since their inception. With an ever-evolving lineup, Osees have achieved a prolific and diverse catalogue of records throughout the 2000s and 2010s. Our favourites are 'Help' (2009), 'Mutilator Defeated at Last' (2015) and 'A Weird Exits' (2016), but with a discography of now 22 studio albums, there's bound to be some controversy amongst fans.
The band have also changed their name a total of five times since 2003. They have been known as OCS,  Oh Sees, The Ohsees, The Oh Sees, Thee Oh Sees, and have now released this year's excellent 'Protean Threat' under simply Osees. A moniker they appear to be sticking to as they have since released 'Metamorphosed' and are set to follow up again on December 9th with 'Panther Rotate'.
The sonic spectrum of sounds explored by the band over the last two decades has placed them as a visceral creative force to be reckoned with. We encourage a deep dive as soon as possible, with perfect starting points all available in the store now.
