The New Abnormal, the sixth studio album from The Strokes, sees the band return to their finest form in both lo-fi melodies and fantastic lyrics. Julian Casablanca’s vocals remain soaring yet personal as he reflects on youth, politics and friendships across Nine of the band's best songs to date. ‘Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus’ is one of The Strokes' finest tracks, which the singles ‘At the Door’ and ‘The Adults Are Talking’ are tasteful departures from their standard formula, yet remain authentic to their sound. And if you want signature Strokes, 'Selfless' and 'Why Are Sundays So Depressing?' are both tracks that could work on 2003's 'Room On Fire' as much as they do now. The album is tasteful, original and reminds us of why the Strokes continue to see success nearly two decades on from their phenomenal debut album Is This It.

The New Abnormal album features cover art by NYC based artist Jean-Michel Basquiat taken from his painting "Bird on Money" which itself was inspired by the devestating Californian wildfires of 2018.
