William John Evans aka Bill Evans, was an American jazz pianist, composer and arranger born 1927 in Plainfield New Jersey. Evans was a gifted pianist and an exponent of the Cool Jazz movement. He worked with Miles Davis, doing arrangements for some of his most famous albums such as Sketches of Spain. Standout albums include Sunday at the Village Vanguard, Waltz for Debby and The Paris Concert: Edition Two.
