Jaime Meline AKA El-P is an American musician, rapper, songwriter, record producer and record executive born 1975 in Brooklyn, New York. Meline was originally a member of Company Flow and has been a major driving force in alternative hip hop for over two decades, producing for several notable rappers such as Aesop Rock. He is also a member of The Weathermen and founder of the hip-hop duo Run the Jewels, along with Killer Mike. Under the name El-P he has released eight albums, standouts include Fantastic Damage, Fandam Plus, I'll Sleep When You're Dead and Cancer 4 Cure. El-P is a fan of science fiction, including the work of Philip K Dick, and many of Dick's theme, such as paranoia and questions about the nature of reality, feature in his lyrics. El-P is also the co-founder, owner, and CEO of the Definitive Jux record label.
