Richard Vreeland aka Disasterpeace is an American composer and musician born 1986 in Staten Island, New York. He first got started in music after learning guitar and drums in high school and started writing music around the age of 17. Vreeland was known initially for his work as a chiptune composer for electronic games, then he moved to film score composition with the 2015 film It Follows. His breakthrough came with the 2011 album Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar which came about when Vreeland participated in a competition called “30 Songs in 30 Days”. The following year he released the excellent FEZ which is the soundtrack to the game of the same name. To-date Vreeland has 28 album releases including studio albums, game and movie soundtracks. Standouts include Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar, FEZ, The Floor is Jelly, It Follows, Hyper Light Drifter and Under the Silver Lake.
