Thy Catafalque | Artist

Thy Catafalque is an experimental metal band formed 1998 in Makó, Hungary, by founder Tamás Kátai along with Juhász János. János left in 2011 leaving Kátai, who sings and plays keyboards, guitar, bass and electronic programming, as the sole member. Kátai creates an eclectic range of styles ranging from electronic tinged symphonic-metal music through to atmospheric post-rock with Hungarian folk influences. Over the period 2004-11 the band released three excellent and critically acclaimed albums: Tűnő Idő Tárlat (2004), Róka Hasa Rádió (2009) and Rengeteg (2011). Other outstanding albums include Sgùrr, Meta and Geometria. Kátai now lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland.
