Fushitsusha is a Japanese noise-psych band formed 1978 in Tokyo by guitarist and singer Keiji Haino. The band has a shifting lineup but the core trio consisted of Haino, Yasushi Ozawa (bass) and Jun Kosugi (drums). The band's sound is influenced by Krautrock bands of the 1970s and British psychedelia of the 1960s-70s. They are considered part of the Japanese psychedelic music scene alongside bands like Ghost and Acid Mothers Temple. The band has released 16 studio albums and some excellent live albums. Their most critically acclaimed works are the two early live albums 1st ('89) and Fushitsusha ('91), and the studio albums Pathetique ('94), A Death Never to be Complete ('97) and The Time is Nigh ('97). Haino is also a prolific recording artist of solo work, as well as side projects and collaborations with artists such as Derek Bailey, Peter Brötzmann, Sanhedolin, Vajra and Keiji Haino & Tatsuya Yoshida.
