Big Audio Dynamite | Artist

Big Audio Dynamite was an English band formed 1984 in London by Mick Jones, the former lead guitarist of the Clash. Jones recruited Don Letts (vocals), Dan Donovan (keyboards), Greg Roberts (drums) and Leo Williams (bass). The band played a mix of musical styles, incorporating elements of punk rock, dance music, hip hop, reggae, and funk. Jones stayed at the helm as the band underwent constant lineup changes, renaming themselves Big Audio Dynamite II in '94. For their second album No.10 Upping Street, Jones collaborated with former Clash comrade Joe Strummer. In '96 Ranking Roger from The Beat joined BAD until they finally split in 1998. Outstanding albums include This is Big Audio Dynamite, No.10 Upping Street and The Globe. After BAD Jones went on to form Carbon/Silicon with Tony James from Generation X.
