The Mothers "Mothermania"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Zappa Records, Europe, 2019, 082430238401, Reissue, 180g Vinyl, Gatefold Sleeve

Mothermania is the Second compilation album by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, originally released in 1969 on Verve Records. This is an excellent collection of tracks from Frank's early albums, including "Hungry Freaks, Daddy", "Who Are The Brain Police", "You're Probably Wondering Why I'm Here" and "It Can't Happen Here" from Freak Out!, "Plastic People", "The Duke of Prunes", "Call Any Vegetable", "Brown Shoes Don't Make it" and "America Drinks and Goes Home" from Absolutely Free, and "The Idiot Bastard Son" and "Mother People" from We're Only in it for the Money. Unlike a lot of compilations, the tracks here work together in context, providing a perfect entry point into Zappa's earliest work for someone who is as yet unfamiliar with these brilliant works of psychedelic craziness and musical brilliance.
