Cafe Tacvba | Artist

Café Tacvba is a Mexican rock band formed 1989 in Mexico City by Emmanuel del Real (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Quinque Rangel (bass, vocals), Joselo Rangel (guitar, vocals) and Rubén Albarrán (vocals, guitar). Café Tacvba was principally influenced by 1980s bands such as The Cure, The Clash, The Smiths and Violent Femmes. Despite their English-language influences, the band wanted to represent their native culture by bringing Mexican influences into their music and singing primarily in Spanish. Their albums Re (1994) and Revés/Yosoy (1999) are superb releases and have led to the band gaining a strong international following. Other outstanding albums include Avalancha de éxitos, Cuatro caminos and Sino. The band is named after the famous Cafe Tacuba in Mexico.
