Nick The Knife is the Third Nick Lowe studio album originally released 1982 on F-Beat Records in the UK. This release sees Nick follow up his two earlier new-wave/power pop masterpieces, Jesus of Cool and Labour of Lust, and while not quite eclipsing those great albums, Nick The Knife comes awfully close. Featuring 'Thumper' on Vocals, Bass and Guitar, and old mates Billy Bremner, Paul Carrack and Terry Williams, plus new mate Carlene Carter on backing vocals, the album is chock full of great songs, pop hooks, and the daft lyrics that only Mr Lowe could get away with. Standout tracks include "Queen of Sheeba", My Heart Hurts", "Heart" and "Stick it Where The Sun Son't Shine", all exhibiting the level of clever pop music craftsmanship that Nick Lowe is famous for. Plus the sound of this album is one of the best productions that Nick Lowe has turned out, and that's saying something.
