Robert Gordon is an American musician and actor born 1947 in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. Early on he was the lead singer for punk group Tuff Darts, and then followed a solo career as a rockabilly singer, working in partnership with guitarists Link Wray, followed by Chris Spedding and Danny Gatton. At the age of nine Gordon was inspired by the Elvis Presley song "Heartbreak Hotel" and decided to pursue a career as a Rock & Roll musician. He made his recording debut at age 17 in 1964 with a group called the Confidentials, then after a period working in the National Guard, Gordon moved to New York City in 1970 and joined the punk rock band Tuff Darts. During 1976, the Tuff Darts recorded "All for the Love of Rock and Roll", "Head over Heels", and "Slash" for a compilation album called Live at CBGB's, plus they released the album Tuff Darts in 1978. Record producer Richard Gottehrer recognised Gordon's talent and hooked him up with rockabilly guitar legend Link Wray. The duo made two excellent studio albums Robert Gordon With Link Wray (1977) and Fresh Fish Special (1978), plus the live album Cleveland '78. Gordon then released more solo albums without Wray, including the excellent Rock Billy Boogie and Are You Gonna be The One. Later in his career Gordon teamed up with legendary UK rock guitarist Chris Spedding, plus he worked with Danny and the Fat Boys guitarist, Danny Gratton. Gordon has also worked with Bruce Springsteen, who wrote the song "Fire" for Gordon and played keyboards on the track which Gordon recorded on the Fresh Fish Special album.
