The Felice Brothers | Artist
The Felice Brothers are an American folk rock/country rock band formed 2006 in Brooklyn, New York, by brothers Ian (vocals, guitar), James (vocals, accordion, organ) and Simone Felice (vocals, drums, guitar). The three brothers originally hail from Palenville, New York in the Catskill Mountains, and got their start as a band playing in the New York City subway stations at 42nd Street and Union Square, and in Greenwich Village. The trio were joined by Dave Turbeville on drums and Josh Rawson on bass. Simone Felice left the group in 2009 to lead his own band The Duke & The King. They play what is labelled "Americana" which is a mix of traditional and contemporary folk with elements of country and appalachian vocal harmonies. Their reputation steadily grew as they extensively toured the USA in their "Short Bus", supporting artists such as Bright Eyes, Justin Townes Earle and Dave Matthews Band. The band has released 12 studio albums, 4 of which are self-released and their recent releases are on the Yep Roc label. Standout albums include Adventures of The Felice Brothers Vol.1, Tonight at the Arizona, The Felice Brothers and Mix Tape.
