Paul Weller is an English singer-songwriter and musician born 1958 in Sheerwater UK. Weller was the frontman, singer, guitarist and primary songwriter for The Jam between 1972-82 after which he formed Pop-Soul group The Style Council. The Style Council folded in 1990 and Weller recorded his debut solo album Paul Weller in 1992. The first album was well received but it was his next two excellent albums that firmly established his solo career: Wild Wood (1993) and Stanley Road (1995). On both albums Weller played all the instruments and wrote all the material. They are full of great songs, excellent musicianship and classic rock hooks that hark back to the late sixties. Since then Weller continues to perform and release fine albums taking different stylistic turns on a regular basis. Outstanding albums include Paul Weller, Wild Wood, Stanley Road, As Is Now and 22 Dreams.
