The Buff Medways is an English garage punk band formed 2000 by Billy Childish. The full name is Wild Billy Childish & The Friends of the Buff Medway Fanciers Association, named after a 19th century breed of chicken from the Medway area. The original line up was Billy on guitar and vocal, Johnny Barker (bass) and Wolf Howard (drums). Barker left the band to be replaced by Graham Day ex of The Prisoners. The band is signed to the Damaged Goods label and they work sometimes with The Buffets. Outstanding albums include This is This, Steady the Buffs, 1914, Medway Wheelers and The XFM Sessions compilation.
