Lambchop is an American band from Nashville, Tennessee formed 1986 by frontman Kurt Wagner. Wagner contributes vocals, electronic treatments, guitar, keyboards, songwriting, production and artwork. Backup players have come and gone but the most recent lineup includes Tony Crow (piano), Matt Swanson (bass), and Scott Martin (drums). The band's alt-country style incorporates electronic treatments overlaid on tight, jazz/country infused songs with well crafted lyrics. Critics have claimed they are "arguably the most consistently brilliant and unique American group to emerge during the 1990s". All their recordings are excellent but the first Seven releases are outstanding: I Hope You're Sitting Down, How I Quit Smoking, Thriller, What Another Man Spills, Nixon, Is a Woman and Aw C'mon / No You C'mon.
