Suicidal Tendencies is an American punk-thrash band formed 1980 in Venice, California by Mike Muir (vocals), Mike Ball (guitar), Sean Muir (drums), and Mike Dunnigan (bass). Mike Muir aka Cyco Miko is the only remaining original member of the band. Along with D.R.I., Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death, Suicidal Tendencies are credited as one of the forerunners of crossover thrash metal. While their early material is considered hardcore punk, the band introduced elements of thrash metal with funk, punk rock and alternative rock, in their later work. To-date they have released 14 studio albums. Their strongest work was in the '90s, with stand-out albums Suicidal Tendencies, How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today, Lights Camera Revolution and The Art of Rebellion. Muir has also released albums under the name Cyco Miko. Robert Trujillo (bass 1989-95) joined Metallica in 2003, and Steve Brunner (bass 2002-11) now releases albums under his stage name Thundercat.
