Swans is an American experimental rock band formed 1982 in New York City, by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira. Gira has been around since the 1980's working with Noise snd No-Wave exponents such as Lydia Lunch and Jarboe. He also Heads band Angels of Light. Swans deliver an intense brand of Noise/Post Rock that has won them widespread critical acclaim. They have released many excellent albums including Children of God, White Light From the Mouth of Infinity, The Great Annihilator, The Seer, and the masterpiece, Soundtracks for the Blind.
