Sweet Trip is an American electronic/experimental rock band formed 1993 in San Francisco, California, by Roberto Burgos (vocals, guitar, synthesizer, programming), Valerie Cooper (vocals, guitar, synthesizer), and Viet Le (drums, bass). Viet Le left in 2000 and the band carried on a a duo. They are known for their dreamy soundscapes and dense production techniques, often blending alternative rock subgenres with intelligent dance music. Panamanian born Burgos also works under the moniker .blacktunic and has released ab EP of Ambient-Techno IDM music entitled 1NE. To-date the group has released four studio albums, one archival compilation and over half a dozen EPs and Singles. Standout albums include Velocity: Design: Comfort (2003), You Will Never Know Why (2009), and A Tiny House in Secret Speeches Polar Equals (2021). Sweet Trip, who's early work has been compared to shoegaze pioneers My Bloody Valentine, are rapidly developing a cult following for their lush, spacious mixture of dream pop, ambient, techno, and drum'n'bass, which fuses wide-eyed pop songwriting with glitch-heavy experimentation.
