Oren Ambarchi is an Australian experimental musician born 1969 in Sydney. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays mainly electric guitar and percussion as well as electronic devices. In the late 1980s he played free jazz, originally as a drummer, and was a member of noise band Phlegm. Ambarchi contributed to Sunn O)))'s Black One album in 2005, and is a frequent live performer with the band. He also collaborates with fellow experimental artists such as Jim O'Rourke, Keiji Haino, Alvin Lucifer, Fire! Orchestra and Paul Duncan of Warm Ghost. Outstanding albums include Grapes From the Estate (2004), In The Pendulum's Embrace (2007), In The Mouth: A Hand (2012), Quixotism (2014) and his latest release to-date 2019's Simian Angel.
