Okovi is the Sixth studio album from Art-Pop/Darkwave sound artist Nicole Rose Hummel aka Zola Jesus. Zola, who also wrote the material and co-produced the album, has created massive sonic soundscapes within the textures presented here. Orchestral instrumentals giving way to traditionally dark synths, quivering drums, and her unique style of singing lends a climatic air to the whole gothic sounding production. This is Zola's finest release to-date and a must-have album for fans of Siouxsie & The Banshees, Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins. We look forward to hearing more from this challenging new artist. The title Okovi translates as 'chains' in the Slovenian language.
