Next Wave St. Vincent

Edging towards two decades of seasoned experience to her name, St. Vincent has become a powerhouse in conceptual rock fusion.

Annie Clark has carved a legacy for herself through a solid catalogue of original and playful takes on rock, renewing ideas both traditional and modern to create a niche that has brought her to the levels of renown she holds today. She made her debut by touring with folk hero Sufjan Stevens in 2006 for the 'Illinois' tour. From which Clarke would go on to establish her band and begin honing the sound across solid releases such as 'Marry Me' (2007) and 'Actor' (2009).

Her landmark collaborative effort with the one and only David Byrne, 2012's 'Love This Giant', sees both artists meld their minds to create a unique statement across several enjoyable experiments in rock tropes. Both her 2014 self-titled effort and 2017's epic 'Masseduction' saw her finally crack a wider fanbase, allowing her to execute a grander vision in both her recordings and live shows. With production on 'Masseduction' featuring the likes of heavy-hitters, Jack Antonoff (Bleachers, Fun.) and Kamasi Washington, the album in both live and musical respects is ambitious, bold and extremely likeable for fans old and new.

With a grandiose vision for rock in mind, St. Vincent continues to take bold steps in revitalising the sound for slick, powerful ballads that continue to wow us, and we can't wait to hear more.

'MassEduction', 'St. Vincent' and 'Love This Giant' are available in the store now.
